My name is Lex G (1975). I’m from the Netherlands and live in a medium sized town about 15 minutes away from the capital Amsterdam. During the day I’m an internet entrepreneur, freelance web developer and writer for the blog you are reading right now.
This page is about me, my goals and this blog. It explains what newmediatype is about and what it could mean to you, as an occasional visitor or regularly returning reader.
As you might have noticed, newmediatype is a blog about internet business, web entrepreneurship and related topics such as internet marketing, online advertising, branding and web development.
Articles on the blog usually combine technical and business perspectives on topics and are written with intent of improving understanding and providing insight to the reader.
Hopefully information on the blog will help anyone who’s serious about using the web as a main platform for their business ventures make better decisions and achieve better results.
Since you might be reading articles that are published on newmediatype I feel that it’s only fair that you as a reader know something about me and we can get, let’s say, ‘virtually’ acquainted a bit more 
I found myself stubbornly rebelling and having many ‘IMO’ (in my opinion) moments while working for some high-tech companies. Me being myself eventually led to starting a freelance web development & web design career that became my daily reality for the next 8+ years.
My interest in the web and new media made me accept web development projects only. I worked for entrepreneurs, small businesses and even some big enterprise businesses. This period provided with some great benefits and experiences because I got the opportunity to work with many interesting people and it gave me the chance to develop my professional skills discover personal traits and talents that I feel get suppressed in most corporate jobs.
To me, the chance see people seriously work on goals, which are derived from their dreams, and being hired as a to work with them and make these dreams become reality is a very rewarding feeling. It was and still is the major driving force for trying to deliver the best results. I’ll give newmediatype the same dedication.
While freelancing involves a lot of work, I’ve also built professional relationships with different people. I’ve worked with: project & marketing managers, advertising specialists, journalists, web developers & designers.
Because I always liked combining business with new media, I soon added some marketing , communication and management diploma’s to my papers. Right now I am completing another full degree in business & marketing communications.
newmediatype is an accumulation of experiences, tips, tricks and knowledge about internet business and related topics. The blog is free to read and offers information to everybody who is interested in learning about online business and / or improving their online results.
Target groups that the blog is aiming for are : web entrepreneurs, small online businesses, serious bloggers and web professionals (developers and designers). There should be something here for each and everyone of those. Though nothing is perfect, hopefully newmediatype will be helpful to the readers and maybe just a little bit inspiring to whoever is interested in the possibilities that new media offer us.
