After Google introduced the Sliding Adsense Ads I came across a post on DailyBlogTips today that announces the new possibility of video’s in blog comments. This is an option that is added through a new Wordpress Plugin by Seesmic.

One of the first blogs to install the plugin and provide video commenting to its readers is the popular TechCrunch. You can see some examples there as well.

So, what’s nice about video comments ?

Well, first and foremost, it gives the reader who’s leaving a comment possibilities to add extra flavor and depth to their opinion in numerous ways, and because these possibilities could very well revolutionize the way we leave comments on blogs to at least some extent, I have taken the opportunity to list some of them below …

5 Strategic SEO Tips for Online Businesses

Partially being a freelance web consultant and SEO being one of the services that I provide to some of my clients I am often surprised by the bad practices which marketing or tech. departments apply when trying to utilize one of the web’s main web traffic driving techniques : Search Engine Optimization.

Adsense Sliding / Scrolling Text Ads - Where is this Leading to ?

Google Adsense and its new feature have been kicking up some dust it lately. The new feature had been in testing mode for quite a while before the Google Blog officially announced the launch of the Adsense Sliding / Scrolling.

Google AdsenseOne of the things which Adsense publishers have been wondering about is : how will this new feature impact the amount of Adsense clicks, and thus the amount of money earned by Publishers ? Will this feature make a positive difference or will more emphasis on the advertising annoy the viewer ?

Personally, I don’t think this new feature is going to make a big difference in regard of Adsense earnings. I don’t see how blog or web site visitors who basically never click on Adsense ads will want to do so now, just because there is an option to slide through to a different advertisement.

(But who knows)

What I find more interesting though is where this trend of adding interaction with the viewer eventually is going to lead to. As most know, business development is necessary for companies to survive. It’s impossible to remain static for too long because the environment is constantly changing (for instance the competition whom are trying to get ahead). It’s only logic that Google is developing their Adsense program.

Now, as I mentioned already, from my personal point of view, I don’t see why the adsense earnings of publishers such as bloggers would increase drastically because of this new feature. We all know that the number of clicks on adsense advertising depends on many factors, such as : the kind of pages which are displaying the ads, the way they are integrated into the design and the type of person viewing them.

Thus, my thoughts are not so much on how much more money adsense is going to earn bloggers or publishers, but more specifically on the direction Google seems to be taking adsense in by adding this interactive feature.

Is this an intermediary step to something else ? We could for instance think about even more interactivity, or maybe even automatically sliding ads ? An option to turn on / off automatically sliding ads after that ?

Only Google knows what the future will hold and we can only speculate, so what do you think ?
